What did you do this past week?

This past week, my team and I really got the ball rolling on our team project, and got a lot of stuff done. We had 3–4 team meetings where we discussed what we had left to accomplish and how we wanted to divy up the work, and it’s been really awesome because different people have naturally taken on leadership in different aspects of the project. One task that I completed this past week with Colette, one of the members on my team, is that we completed the user stories for our assigned developer. I thought that this was a lot of fun actually! Colette and I tried to be really creative about what users might want out of our developer’s product, and we were super proud and kind of amused by what we had come up with in the end. In addition to this, I worked with Nathan to set up Gitlab CI/CD, which went relatively smoothly because I have experience setting this sort of thing up from previous classes. Also, Michael and I finished setting up the skeleton for the RESTful API Backend that we are going to flesh out further in phase 2.

What’s in your way?

I’m just in that time of the semester and in that time of recruiting where I’m extraordinarily busy, and don’t have any free time. It’s been difficult aligning me and my team’s very busy schedules to find times to meet, and oftentimes we need to meet after midnight in order to find a time that works for all of us. This can be frustrating because I have no choice but to stay up into the late hours of the night to complete all of my work, even though I want to rest and also have other work that’s due.

What will you do next week?

I’m a little stressed for next week because me and my team still have a decent portion of our project to complete before the Monday night deadline, and right now it’s Sunday night. I’m not looking forward to the stress of the deadline, but I am looking forward to getting past it. Beyond that, I think that my team and I will start Phase 2 a little earlier so we won’t have to deal with as much of the rush or stress of having a lot of work to complete with an approaching deadline. \
