What did you do this past week?

This past week, my team and I were moving quickly to complete Phase 3 before the deadline. It was a bit hectic and we’re still working to get everything done. I worked mainly on the backend side of things. Specifically, I worked on refining the backend unit tests, adding backend searching of all models, adding backend searching in general, and I also took a look at our implementation of backend sorting as well. I also worked on completing the user stories with Colette, so we met up and looked at our Developer’s website to give them suggestions. In class, I remember doing several exercises. I particularly remember doing two exercises on the same day.

What’s in your way?

Midterm season is here again. All my classes have ramped way up, and this week is really bad for me in terms of workload. I have something really big due in every one of my classes, so I’m scrambling to get everything done. This week is going to need some serious time management, particularly this week leading up to Monday. On Monday, I have a CS lab also due in a different class, as well as a busy class schedule. I’m going to have to balance all of these things.

What will you do next week?

After completing Phase 3, I’m forgetting about this class for as long as possible.

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #12: More Getters and Setters?

I found it less interesting than the previous one, and I’m getting tired of all the repeat papers that we’re getting this semester. I took this class hoping it would be a drastically different experience than the previous one, and it is in some ways, but having to read the same papers for two semesters in a row is dull. I wish we read papers that weren’t previously covered, although I understand that these are important papers to read.

What was your experience of cross join, theta join, natural join, and SQL? (this question will vary, week to week)

Implementing them in an exercise was helpful.

What made you happy this week?

Getting closer to being done with the project in this class.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

Take a shower everyday.
