What did you do this past week?

I honestly did not do that much this past week. The deadline for phase 2 got extended from Monday to Tuesday, and that extension was really helpful for us. In the extra time that we got, my team and I refined our project and got to triple check all the requirements. Once my team and I submitted the project, we decided to take a week off and relax a little bit. I haven’t met with them after we submit phase 2, and I think I’ll probably start planning the next steps with them next week. Beyond all that, I just attended class as normal.

What’s in your way?

Not much this week actually. My schedule looks a lot lighter after having finished phase 2. I guess the only thing that’s a little bothersome is that I’m a little behind on some of the lectures, so I need to catch-up with them.

What will you do next week?

Next week I have no special plans for this class. I think I’ll go to class as usual, do the quizzes, do the homeworks, and take it easy. I think I’ll meet with my team once to plan out what we want to do for phase 3, but I highly doubt that we’ll start implementing anything this week.

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #10: Dependency Inversion Principle?

I thought it was an interesting paper! Generally though, I wish that these papers were a little less abstract. I know that they provide examples in the paper, but I would love some real-life references or stories of bad design that got overhauled, or good design that worked well.

What was your experience of =, *, ** and regular expressions? (this question will vary, week to week)

I have an interesting relationship with regular expressions. I took compilers last spring, and compilers deals with a LOT of regular expressions. In fact, the first lab is pretty much a lab on regular expressions, so I’m familiar with how they work, and if I looked at some documentation I think I could figure out how to make a regular expression work.

What made you happy this week?

Finishing phase 2 was a great feeling. The euphoria of having all our work culminate in a working project was great.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

Here come’s the son, doo-doo doo-doo
